A cabinet shop with a general contractor’s backbone.
Dickson Cabinet Co. is the dedicated cabinet division of D One Builders — a Gilroy general contractor that has been building custom homes across the South Bay since 2010. The millwork was always its quiet heart. In 2026 we brought it out into its own name.
The story
Sixteen years in the making.
D One Builders was founded in 2010 as a general contractor in Gilroy, California — building custom homes, whole-home remodels, and additions for clients across Santa Clara and San Benito Counties. From the beginning, the part of the work that drew the most attention was never the framing or the foundation. It was the cabinetry.
Kitchens, butler’s pantries, wet bars, window seats flanked by glass-front display towers — the millwork was the thing clients photographed, the thing they showed their friends, the thing they remembered. The cabinet shop became the quiet heart of the company: the room where the most exacting work happened, run by the people most obsessed with getting a reveal right.
In 2026, that shop stepped out from under the general contractor’s umbrella. Dickson Cabinet Co. launched as a dedicated cabinet division under Kyle Dickson’s name — for homeowners and trade clients who want cabinetry treated as the focal point of a room rather than a line item near the end of a build.
The workshop
An atelier, not an assembly line.
Our Gilroy workshop is a small shop by design. Lumber is selected by hand and stickered to settle before it is cut. Face frames are mortised and tenoned; drawer boxes are dovetailed; doors are sanded through progressive grits before they reach the spray room.
We keep the shop small on purpose. It means the people who draw your kitchen are the people who build it, and the people who build it are the people who arrive to install it. Nothing gets lost in a handoff, because there are no handoffs.

One shop, start to finish
Drawn, joined, finished, and installed by the same hands. We never outsource boxes or hand finished work to a stranger. The person who builds your kitchen is the person who stands behind it.

Solid materials, honest joinery
Hardwood face frames, dovetailed drawers, real veneers over stable cores. We build the way furniture is built — for the homeowner who opens a drawer in twenty years and finds it still runs true.

Restraint over flourish
The best cabinetry recedes. Consistent reveals, quiet hardware, grain that runs where the eye expects it. We design for the room, not for the photograph — though the photographs tend to follow.
